XM Canada (TSX: XSR), the country's premier provider of satellite radio, today announced it is expanding its NHL coverage to provide every game for every NHL team.
NHL fans across North America can hear their favourite teams on XM Canada throughout the season, wherever they live.
XM Canada is expanding from six NHL play-by-play channels to nine in order to offer comprehensive coverage of the league. Games can be heard on XM channels 204-209 and channels 237-239.
The 2007-2008 NHL season starts this weekend as the Anaheim Ducks begin defense of their first Stanley Cup championship against the Los Angeles Kings. The Ducks and Kings will play Saturday and Sunday at the O2 Arena in London, U.K., marking the first time that the NHL has played regular-season games in Europe.
In addition to carrying the full schedule of NHL games, XM Canada is the exclusive carrier of the 24-hour hockey talk radio channel NHL Home Ice, located at XM channel 204. NHL Home Ice offers the latest news, commentary, call-in shows, interviews and other special programming 365 days a year.
To coincide with its exclusive partnership with the NHL, XM Satellite Radio ices its most impressive roster yet:
- "In The Slot"
Hockey legend Phil Esposito returns for his third season behind the
microphone hosting his daily talk show along with veteran broadcaster Jim
Tatti. (Mon to Fri - 4 - 6 p.m. ET)
- "Hockey This Morning"
Enjoy 24/7 hockey talk right across the U.S. and Canada, beginning at
6 a.m. ET with Scott Laughlin.
- NHL LIVE
A new addition to the lineup, NHL Live is a two-hour show from our XM
Studios in New York City, hosted by Don Le Greca and E.J. Hradik.
EVERY TEAM - EVERY GAME.
This year, we are delivering every game of the 2007-08 NHL schedule to hockey fans across North America, including the NHL All-Star Game, the Stanley Cup Playoffs and exclusive coverage of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The 2007-2008 NHL season is XM Canada's third season carrying NHL games and its first as the exclusive satellite radio network of the league. XM and the NHL have a long-term broadcast partnership that extends through 2015.
