OTTAWA, Apr 10, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --

CANSEC - Allen-Vanguard Corporation (TSX:VRS) today launched a new corporate image and brand identity to reflect the company's position as the global leader for sustainable capability against evolving threats. The launch coincides with the opening day of CANSEC 2008, Canada's foremost international defence and security conference. Allen-Vanguard is a proud supplier of various advanced products that protect Canadian forces in Afghanistan from the ever present threat of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

"The new image reflects Allen-Vanguard's strategic vision and global leadership position as a trusted partner in protection and counter-measures against IEDs and other evolving threats," said Allen-Vanguard President and CEO David E. Luxton. "Our products and services have exceptional strategic fit, and they give Allen-Vanguard a capability - unique in the world - to combine leading products and services into comprehensive, innovative solutions.

"We are also unique in our deep front-line experience in counter-IED, combined with our strong R&D capability," continued Mr. Luxton. "As a result, we are the partner of choice, not only for a growing list of respected customers in more than 120 countries, but also for large corporations, research institutes and government agencies seeking expert capability, as they pursue programs to address the kind of threats that we understand so well.

"Our new corporate image introduces a new chapter for Allen-Vanguard, following a period of transformational acquisitions, and signals a bright future, as we pursue new and larger opportunities provided by our total-solutions capability."
