Formed on April 9th, 2003, Gamehost Income Fund is an unincorporated open-ended trust governed by the laws of the province of Alberta. On June 1st, 2003 specific gaming and hotel assets of the publicly traded company Service Plus Hospitality Ltd., and several privately owned assets were acquired through a plan of arrangement.
The fund operates two casinos, a hotel, and a multi-tenant commercial complex, all of which are located in Alberta. The Boomtown Casino is located in Fort McMurray, and the Great Northern Casino,Service Plus Inns & Suites hotel and the multi-tenant complex, which includes a restaurant, pub and liquor store are all located on the same site in Grande Prairie. These operating assets have well established records of operating profits and cash flow growth.
Gamehost also owns a 40% interest in the Deerfoot Inn & Casino Joint Venture, which is comprised of a 13 acre parcel of land in SE Calgary. The comprehensive hotel and convention centre attached to a live entertainment and casino gaming facility opened for business on November 21st, 2005.
Gamehost also owns a 20% interest in the Stampede Casino Joint Venture, located in downtown Calgary on the Calgary Stampede & Exhibition grounds. This comprehensive live entertainment and casino gaming facility opened for business on June 19th, 2008.
Gamehost Income Fund qualifies under the Canadian Income Tax Act as a mutual fund trust. Units of the Trust qualify as investments for Registered Retirement Savings Plans, Deferred Profit Sharing Plans, and Registered Retirement Income Funds.
